How to Choose by Room Size

Match CADR to your room

A purifier's CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) should be at least ⅔ of your room's square footage. For a 300 sq ft room, look for a CADR of 200+.

Aim for 4+ air changes per hour

For allergy and asthma management, you want the purifier to cycle all the air in your room at least 4 times per hour. Oversizing slightly is always better.

Open-plan spaces need more power

Manufacturer coverage claims assume standard 8-foot ceilings. High ceilings or open-plan layouts reduce effective coverage — size up by 20–30%.

Bedroom use: prioritize quiet

For bedrooms, noise level matters as much as coverage. Look for units rated below 30 dB on their lowest setting for undisturbed sleep.
